The difference between white glue and alcohol glue

Aug 11, 2023

White latex and alcohol glue are two common glues. They all are both sticky and can firmly bond objects together. However, there are some differences between them.

First, white latex is a kind of water-based gum water, mainly composed of PVA polymer, water, thickener and preservatives. This type of glue is usually dense and does not dry immediately, and requires some time to cure. Therefore, it can be used for the bonding of handmade goods, paper, cloth and wood.

Alcohol glue is an organic solvent type of glue, mainly composed of ethanol, epoxy resin, resin and additives. The glue is relatively thin and will dry soon after rubbing. Because it contains organic solvents, it may cause damage to certain items, and therefore it should be used with caution. Alcohol glue is usually used for the bonding of hard objects such as glass, metal and ceramics.

It is worth mentioning that white latex, compared with alcohol gum, has better environmental protection, contains no organic solvents, and does not cause harm to health and the environment.

In general, white latex and alcohol gum have their own characteristics, according to different needs to choose. When we use glue, we should also pay attention to the operation specifications to avoid negative effects.
